Associates Establishes Practice in Alpharetta
ALPHARETTA, GA., GA, July 8, 2002 ---
Alpharetta resident Dr. James L. Stewart opened a new
medical practice in the Old Alabama Square shopping center
on July 8th. The practice, Newtown Medical
Associates, specializes in internal medicine for adults
and adolescents age 13 and older. When discussing his
treatment philosophy, Dr. Stewart stated, "Our focus
is on the whole patient. We promote wellness and disease
prevention along with treating acute and chronic
illness."
Newtown Medical Associates offers a
variety of screenings, exams, lab and diagnostic services
in house for the convenience of its patients. Services
include managing chronic conditions including high blood
pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol as well as sports,
school and routine medical exams. The practice
participates in many insurance plans. Patients are urged

Dr. Stewart’s new office is located in
the Old Alabama Square shopping center at 3005 Old Alabama
Road in the Newtown area. Office hours are Monday through
Friday, from 8:00 to 5:00. Appointments can be scheduled

Stewart.
Dr. Stewart is a native of Atlanta and a
graduate of Emory University. He earned his medical degree
from Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and has been
board certified in internal medicine since 1987. After
completing his residency at Erlanger Medical Center in
Chattanooga, Tennessee, Dr. Stewart returned to the
Atlanta area in 1990 and established practices in Roswell,
Norcross, and Sandy Springs. Dr. Stewart and his wife Kim
have lived in Alpharetta since 1990.
